Love comes to those who still hope

Love comes to those who still hope

Juliet Smith spent fifteen years in a relationship that ultimately wasn’t right for her. She was stuck in it and couldn’t move out of it due to fear of the unknown. It hit her hard one day that she had to let it go. Alone in her home, she fell on the floor in tears, grieving and feeling the sting of fear that she will never find someone else that will love her; she will be alone for the rest of her life.

But she found the courage to get up, change her life and started doing things that gave her confidence, joy, and love and that was when she met her husband and they got married some months later.

No matter how long you’ve been hurt in the past, you probably still wonder when your soul mate will walk into your life. Why? Humans were wired to love. We were born to connect with others and share a deep emotional and physical bond. Love can hurt but it is also important for our well being.

Even if your life experiences have always ended up with more sad than happy moments. So discouraging, that you keep wondering about the possibility of finding love. There are always countless reasons to hang in there. Just because you had a failed relationship doesn’t mean that this will repeat infinitely into the future.

It is difficult to maintain a positive mindset after you go through a traumatic experience like a breakup. You can still find the courage to change all the negativity and bring some positivity in your life. With a positive mindset you can get over your hurt and be successful with someone who truly deserves you.

The first step to attract someone who will love you is to cultivate that within yourself. You cannot expect others to love you if you don’t even feel that way towards yourself. Just because a partner has ended a relationship does not mean you are unlovable or unworthy of their love. Rather than focusing on what you did wrong, focus instead on what you can do to make yourself feel better.

Efforts are never wasted even when it leads to disappointing results. It can make you wiser, better, stronger, and even happier in the long run. When things get tough and you are losing your head, be patient, and keep going.

Success means different things to different folks

Success is possible to those that believe

Success is one of the often searched words on the internet. A quick search on google and a search for the word “success” will bring up 245,000 search items. The reason why people search for success online is that they desire success. Unfortunately, desire alone is not enough guarantee for you to become successful in life.

Success takes time

Everything in life happens according to our time. Every individual has a specific time for certain things to be accomplished in life. You may look at your friends for example, and keep wondering about the rapid progress they have made in life.

The truth is that everything happens at their own pace. They have their own time and clock and you have yours, so be patient if you desire to become successful in life.

Don’t envy others making progress in life

Jack Ma started Alibaba at age 39. At that age, some of his friends were still struggling to make meaning out of life. Virgin Group was started by Richard Branson when he was 34. That would be considered, a major achievement.

These men achieved success, not because they were looking at their friends and colleagues, but because they intentionally desired success and worked hard towards achieving their goals in life. It all boils down to doing what gives you joy and happiness.

Be happy with little success

Celebrating the little achievements and never getting discouraged is the beginning. Everyone who becomes successful in life started from the very bottom. They never achieved their great accomplishments overnight.

When we are happy with the little success we achieve in life, it opens door to better opportunities. Clinching the bronze medal in the Olympics was a huge achievement for Weightlifter Christine Girard of Canada at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

Six years later, Christine became a Gold medalist when Maiya Maneza of Kazakhstan and Svetlana Tsarukaeva of Russia who won Gold and Silver were disqualified for taking banned substances. It may have taken years, but hard work surely pays a huge dividend.

Be consistent and success will show up

Consistency is always synonymous with those who achieve great things in life. No matter how slow the progress may seem, keep moving, and never stop trying. What you consistently pursue and desire will eventually become a reality.

It takes a strong commitment to not only your passion but also your personal life and family life to truly become successful.

Ignore the haters

Ignore the haters

Someone once described haters as “people who whisper your success, but broadcast your failure”. They are always there no matter how you try to shake them off. Don’t even attempt to please them, because the more you do, the more they would keep hating on you.

Those who aren’t successful in life, don’t have issues with haters, because they are already down. The focus is always on those who aspire to achieve their dreams and goals in life. The more successful you are in life, the more the hate.

Eight years ago, when I bought my first call, not all my friends were happy with me. Some secretly envied me and with envy came hatred. It got worse when I started making real progress in my career.

How I dealt with haters

I focused on those who are happy to have me around and ignored the haters. This has worked quite well for me, because the more I ignore them, the quicker they disappeared. They realized that I wasn’t ready to take their hate seriously, and so they gave up hating on me.

Don’t get distracted

It is easier to get distracted when people say hurtful words about us. A young lady who was in an abusive relationship and had grown to hate herself shared her experience. “Each day was like hell on earth. I tried all I could to please him, but the more I did, the more he hated me. I felt I was not good enough. At a point, I had to break up with him, when the abuse was affecting me emotionally.

Those were the most difficult periods of my life. I became overweight, as I wasn’t watching my diet anymore. When I left Dave, I did all I could to gain back my confidence. It was a real struggle because I had almost lost everything. My self-worth was all gone. I had zero self-confidence and I was standing at the very edge of a mental breakdown.

Relocating to a new city and finding a new job gave me a fresh lease of life. It was like a heavy burden had been lifted off my fragile shoulder. For once I was getting my groove back and I loved it. The bad energy was all gone and I was able to make new friends.

Two years after, I fell in love with someone whom I refer to as my sunshine. He erased all the hate toxins that David had deposited in me. I realized that life always gives us a second chance to become who we truly want to become in life. Love triumphed over hate and I was the happiest soul that ever lived”

Never pay evil with evil

There is always the temptation to hate those who hate you. Unfortunately, that may not be the right approach. Like Martin Luther, King Jnr said: “Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that

We must always find a way to forgive those who hate without reason. Love them and always find a place in your heart to forgive them. Hopefully, they would see a reason to stop hating and start loving.

Get Inspired by hate

Some call them haters, but I would prefer to call them motivators. Let the actions of the few that hate you push you to greater heights. Keep using the stone of hate thrown at you, to build a platform that will inspire you towards your goals in life.

On the 14th of October 2019, Bulgaria hosted England in a Euro 2020 Qualifier. The match was almost marred with monkey chants each time England winger Raheem Sterling was on the ball. Raheem refused to allow racial abuse to weigh him down. It rather motivated him to put in his best performance in the color of England. He went ahead to score a brace, as England thumped Bulgaria 6-0.

Getting the right information is crucial to your success in life

Getting the right information is crucial to your success in life

Information can be described as the process of been informed. When an individual has full knowledge about something, that individual can be described as been informed. Every product we purchase usually comes with an operational manual. The manual contains all the information the user needs to operate the product safely and efficiently.

The level of information we acquire in life can sometimes determine the level of success we can attain. There is a popular saying- “Information is Power”. That is true to an extent because when we have access to certain information, it gives us leverage and comparative advantage over others.

Knowing is not enough

Having access to quality information is not enough. What you do with the volume of information at your disposal is crucial to your success in life. Having a University degree for example in Electronics engineering, means you have some level of information as regards electronics. What you do with this vital information will determine if you become successful in life or not.

Patiently wait to get all the necessary information you need to succeed in life

I once read a funny story about a cleaner who was assigned to clean an airplane. He was busy cleaning the pilot’s cockpit when he saw a book titled,  “How to Fly an Aeroplane for Beginners. Volume 1. Curiosity took a hold of him, and he opened the first page which said: “To start the engine, press the red button..”He did exactly what was written there, and the airplane engine started. He was happy and opened the next page.

On the next page was written: “To get the airplane moving, press the blue button..”He did so and the plane started moving at an amazing speed. He was already excited about what he had been able to achieve and he was desperately wanted to fly, so he opened the 3rd page which said: “To make the airplane fly, please press the green button..” He did so and the plane started to fly. He was super excited. It was like a dream come true.

After 20 minutes of flying, he was satisfied and wanted to land so he decided to go to the 4th page, and on page 4 was boldly written; “To learn how to land a flying plane, please purchase Volume 2 of this introductory book on flying an airplane at the nearest book
shop! ” The Cleaner will be buried tomorrow.

Moral Lesson:

Don’t ever attempt anything without complete information.

Most individuals in life, make the exact mistake this cleaner made. They learn about a certain business for example, and without having all the necessary information, they go-ahead to start the business. The result is they end up getting disappointed as the business packs up after a while.

beauty beyond the eyes

Beauty beyond the eyes

Beauty, as they say, lies in the eyes of the beholder. What if the one who aught to behold your beauty is blind? That brings me to the subject of appreciating beyond what we can ever see.

57 years ago,  Stevland Hardaway Morris (Stevie Wonder) composed one of his best selling albums: Fingertips at just age 13. The song was number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

For those who may not be aware, Stevie Wonder is visually impaired, but he’s the most talented musician that America has ever produced.

Beauty is in the heart and not in the eyes. The eyes of little children look beautiful when they are given birth to. Fast forward to 90 years later (if they are privileged to be alive), those beautiful eyes become wrinkled, weak, and partially blind.

The heart is the center of beauty. A Beautiful heart can produce the most amazing songs we can ever imagine in life. When she sang her famous hit track “I dream a dream ” Susan Boyle was 47. She was just a local Scottish girl who wasn’t the most beautiful. Her beautiful song however compensated for all the beauty in the world. It came from a heart that was flowing with abundant kindness.

Her beautiful heart gave her fortunes her physical beauty couldn’t give to her within the space of 2 years after her commanding performance at the British Got Talent 3rd edition held in 2008. Today, Susan Boyle’s net worth is estimated at over £22 Million.

Cobham Asuquo is one of the most talented songwriters Nigeria has ever produced. He has successfully composed hit songs for the likes of Asa, Banky W,  Omawumi, and Waje. Though virtually impaired, he keeps churning out beautiful lyrics from his beautiful heart, and he has remained a source of inspiration to millions worldwide.

I’ve always believed in the fact that “There is great ability in every disability ” Some saw visual impairment in Stevie Wonder, but his parents saw talent even at an early age. Some saw symptoms of a low IQ in Susan Boyle, but her beloved Mum saw perfection in her daughter’s imperfect state. She believed so much in Susan’s amazing talent even though Susan was getting weary after several failed attempts to launch her musical career.

It all begins from our inside. There’s an awesome beauty lying on our inside. Beautiful ideas. Best selling albums. Table-topping hit singles. Books that millions will crave to read. They are all embedded in our beautiful hearts. Look on your inside and within lies your true beauty!
