Semiu Fagbayi

Semiu Fagbayi- “I hate it whenever we lose a game

Unfortunately, things have not been too rosy for the team, which is presently been managed by the versatile coach Akinyelu Olajide. Lying in 5th position in the Creative Championship League table, the team only has a win and 3 draws so far in the season.

I asked the captain how it feels, not winning a game of football. “Even if I am not the captain of a team, I hate losing. As a captain, each time we lose, I am not always happy. I always feel bad whenever we don’t win a game. it is not just about been a captain”.

The Ogun State-born footballer, who started his football career with All-Stars football academy, has been enjoying life with Gbagada FC. A team he joined in 2014, has given him a new lease of life. “Gbagada FC is like a home to me. Even in my neighborhood, I am the envy of all, when people get to know I am playing for Gbagada FC. Playing with the club is a huge privilege

Semiu who currently has two goals to his credit, just behind Edema Peter who is the current highest goal scorer for the team, believes that being the captain of the side is not in any way, weighing him down in terms of goal scoring.

“I don’t think being a captain affects my goal scoring. It is a matter of time. Takes time for things to start working out. I am happy the efforts I am putting into the training is beginning to yield results. For example, I didn’t score in our first two matches of the season. In our third match, I got an assist for Edema Peters. In the fourth match, I didn’t score, but in our fifth match of the season, I scored a brace. So I believe they’re a development in my game and hopefully, in our next match, I will do more.

He explained the feeling of joy about scoring a brace against Emmydinho FC, as a thing of joy and happiness. The relief of finally breaking the yoke of scoring goals is amazing. Unfortunately, his brace wasn’t enough to secure all 3 points, as EMMYDINHO FC eventually scored an equalizer to rescue a point.

He sees Gbagada FC’s recent form which has seen them drop points in games they should have wrapped up as a course of concern. “I feel we tend to lose focus in certain games where we are leading, thinking the game is done and dusted. I will not blame the defenders, because I feel it is a team effort and hopefully we are going to work on it.

He explained the difficulty associated with being a striker and also a captain of the team. “I would say, it is not easy playing as a forward and at the same time trying to coordinate players from the back beginning from the goalkeeper. Thankfully, we have a lot of intelligent players in the team like our Central defender Adekunle Biliamin. He is an experienced player who helps defensively. He helps to coordinate the defense line”

love

Love is a beautiful thing

It is difficult to define love because everyone’s perception of what love is can be dramatically different. Love is one of the most profound emotions we experience as humans. Any human interaction which will last a lifetime or a decade must be built on mutual love.  Though we can invite deep affection into our lives, we don’t have control over how, when, and where love starts to express itself.

We can feel the love in a variety of different ways: when we are sad, happy, confused, angry, or excited. Our attitude about love can range from affectionate love to infatuation and pleasure. Often, we use love as an action, as a force to keep our relationships with our partner, friends, and family together.

Because love takes on different forms, we can each experience love in our way, which is why defining the term love is so complicated. Love is so hard to define because it does not exist as one thing. We can feel affection for our spouse, parents, friends, children, pets, neighbors, nations, etc. How then do we define something so uncontrollable and versatile?

Love is a basic necessity in everyone’s life. Everyone needs to be loved to live a proper and healthy life. It is the glue that keeps a relationship strong and solid. It holds us all together and makes life worth living. Love is being someone’s strength and can be expressed through actions.

Love is always beautiful, if it is not, then it gives room for questions. You need to understand that your partner had a life before you entered. You cannot ask them to give it up the moment you entered.

They have their priorities. Your partner cannot give you attention 24/7.  Understand it, respect it. Do not expect them to change their schedule completely for you. A true relationship flourishes when partners are committed to behaving lovingly through continual, endless, and unconditional giving.

Love is not all about bliss. There will always be difficult moments. A person who truly loves you will always be with you through the rain and the sunshine. Someone who abandons you during a crisis doesn’t love you. You will not always agree with your partner.

Disagreement is common in a relationship. A healthy relationship will have disagreements at times. This is because as much as you have affection towards a person, both of you are different due to upbringing and perspectives.  Sometimes that is what makes life exciting.

One of the imperfections of love is not loving someone to the extent to which they treasure you. You should not settle where you are not loved, it is a tragic situation. A one-side love is more deadly than a cobra’s venom.

Tangling with someone who doesn’t have affection for you is risky. Also, do not let the heartache of the past imprison and hold you back from loving again because the affection you are craving for is waiting for you! Have a wonderful love life!!!

bitterness

The danger of bitterness

Bitterness is the feeling of hurt, anger, resentment, and hatred that is build up in our hearts when we have been hurt by others or by an experience in life. Bitterness is a depressant. It can extinguish your joy and enthusiasm for life. It contaminates you with feelings of anger, hatred, jealousy, vindictiveness, animosity, and hostility.

The feelings of bitterness are universal. It is so common and widespread that it affects everyone at some point in their life. No One is excluded or immune from it. There are several reasons why you might find yourself feeling bitter. It could be a relationship breakup, unfaithful spouse, being betrayed by a trusted friend, getting scammed, being neglected, getting abused as a child, loss of a job, not being appreciated for a job well done, experiencing what you feel like unfair treatment, etc. These and many more can cause bitterness to get rooted in your heart.

Bitterness is a cancerous condition that can consume you with fault finding, criticism, negativity, ill-will, and complaining. It can cause emotional and physical fatigue, high blood pressure, loss of appetite, nervous tension, ulcers, and insomnia. People who go through life demanding their way, expecting everything to be in their favor, and for everyone to respect their rights are prone to being bitter.

Holding on to bitterness causes you to stay in a state of anger, helplessness, and resentment that spills over to others. When interpersonal feuds, grudges, controversies, disputes, conflicts, jealousies, competitiveness towards others are not resolved it will lead to increased feelings of bitterness which poison and pollute your whole system. You find yourself thinking about the person who hurt you all the time that you can’t get over it nor get it out of your mind.

When you allow bitterness to remain unchallenged by justifying it, minimizing its seriousness, or by ignoring the unavoidable consequences, the problem will only intensify and reinforce its destructive effects upon your life. You can never grow when you stay at the point of hurt. There are no happy bitter people.  It is okay to be bitter but it is not okay to get stuck for too long with bitterness because when you get stuck, you get lost!!!

Success means different things to different folks

Success is possible to those that believe

Success is one of the often searched words on the internet. A quick search on google and a search for the word “success” will bring up 245,000 search items. The reason why people search for success online is that they desire success. Unfortunately, desire alone is not enough guarantee for you to become successful in life.

Success takes time

Everything in life happens according to our time. Every individual has a specific time for certain things to be accomplished in life. You may look at your friends for example, and keep wondering about the rapid progress they have made in life.

The truth is that everything happens at their own pace. They have their own time and clock and you have yours, so be patient if you desire to become successful in life.

Don’t envy others making progress in life

Jack Ma started Alibaba at age 39. At that age, some of his friends were still struggling to make meaning out of life. Virgin Group was started by Richard Branson when he was 34. That would be considered, a major achievement.

These men achieved success, not because they were looking at their friends and colleagues, but because they intentionally desired success and worked hard towards achieving their goals in life. It all boils down to doing what gives you joy and happiness.

Be happy with little success

Celebrating the little achievements and never getting discouraged is the beginning. Everyone who becomes successful in life started from the very bottom. They never achieved their great accomplishments overnight.

When we are happy with the little success we achieve in life, it opens door to better opportunities. Clinching the bronze medal in the Olympics was a huge achievement for Weightlifter Christine Girard of Canada at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

Six years later, Christine became a Gold medalist when Maiya Maneza of Kazakhstan and Svetlana Tsarukaeva of Russia who won Gold and Silver were disqualified for taking banned substances. It may have taken years, but hard work surely pays a huge dividend.

Be consistent and success will show up

Consistency is always synonymous with those who achieve great things in life. No matter how slow the progress may seem, keep moving, and never stop trying. What you consistently pursue and desire will eventually become a reality.

It takes a strong commitment to not only your passion but also your personal life and family life to truly become successful.
