success

Success is always intentional

In whatever you do in life, always do something intentional every day to create the success you want and deserve. Success is not accidental, it is intentional. Often, we describe successful people as individuals who have a good job, ride good cars, are happily married with kids, dress cutely, live in their own home, etc.

While to some, when they think of success they imagine wealth, others want power while others want to make a positive impact in life. All these are perfectly valid because success is a concept that means different things to different people but, no matter what success means to you, it is not something that will certainly come easily.

There is no single right way to be successful in life because what works for you might not work for someone else. Success is personal and unique to each individual.  It is the ability to reach your goals in life whatever these goals might be.

You are the only person who intimately knows what you want to accomplish in life. There are certain achievements and milestones you may wish to attain. It is all about making maximum impact that brings fulfillment to  your life.

Identifying what makes you special and who you truly are is the best you can do for yourself if you want to be successful in life. Stop looking to others for validation that you are on the right track. The first step in your journey to success is to have a clear definition of what success means to you. Knowing your destination will keep you traveling on the right path even when the temptation to go off track comes along.

To be successful, you need to dream big, plan and prepare then put in effort and time. Research and find out what you need to do to achieve your goals in life, then aim to be the very best that you possibly can be based on your concept of accomplishment.

Everyone’s path to great accomplishment is different hence when you are pursuing your goals/ dreams, acknowledge that you might make mistakes and fail. Things will not always go according to your plans. Challenges will come but know that the challenges won’t last forever.

There will be mistakes and failures along the way. Mistakes and failures are the bridges you cross on your way towards success. There would be moments when you feel like the end goal is so far away or the process is different. Don’t worry these circles of discomfort are part of the success package. Acknowledge what you are feeling but don’t let it hold you back.

There are no shortcuts to accomplishing great results in life. A building’s foundations go down before the building goes up. It takes sacrifice, patience, time, a passionate desire to succeed, and a strong will to win. Learn from others’ mistakes and you don’t have to reinvent mistakes that others have already made.

Nobody wakes up to become successful in life. Success is always an intentional act. True success comes from work. You will never become successful if you don’t work towards your goal in life and keep working towards it!!!

Dreams will push you beyond limits

Dreams will push you beyond limits

Dreams simplified

Dreams are the fuels that carry us through the journey of life. Sometimes, the journey may seem rough and the road looks a bit bumpy. What keeps us going is the dream that gave birth to our initial momentum in life.

The beautiful dreams of Kevin De Bruyne

Kevin De Bruyne had always had the dream of becoming a top footballer while still playing at Belgian club Genk. The relatively unknown Belgian who had this fiery personality and a tenacious spirit experienced something that later on changed his entire career in 2009 while still with Genk.

In his first year with the Belgian club. He was made to live with a family, but due to his withdrawn attitude, the family informed the club that they do not want Kevin to stay with them anymore. The young Belgian was understandably upset and heartbroken.

“People were saying that I wasn’t going to make it because of my poor character. I told myself at that point: ‘Let’s see who has the last word.”

Dream come true for Kevin De Bruyne or so it seemed

True to his word, Chelsea came calling for his services in 2012, and he later signed with the London club in a five years deal worth £6.7 Million. He was however faced with so many challenges while with Chelsea under coach Jose Mourinho, which left him with bitter memories.

His dreams of becoming a world-class footballer were almost becoming a nightmare, and he was eventually sold to  German Club VFL Wolfsburg in 2014. It was a move that ignited the full potential of the midfielder.

Dreams rekindled

At Wolfsburg, he made a whopping 21 assist in the 2014/15 football season and break the Bundesliga assist record in the process. He ended the season with 28 assists in all competition and was voted the 2015 German footballer of the year. In August 2015, Manchester City acquired the services of the talented midfielder in a deal that surpassed the then club record (£55 million).

KDB shines brightly at Manchester City

Dreams do come true, and for Kevin De Bruyne, his dreams were already unfolding before his eyes. His amazing form in Manchester City’s colors has seen him amassing a total of 67 assists in 158 appearances.

He was recently voted UEFA Midfielder of the year, Premier League player of the season, and UEFA Men’s Player of the year award. The best is yet to come for the fiery Belgian who has also been in astounding form for the Belgian national team.

In reality, Dreams do come true, but in the process of achieving one’s dream, there would be challenges that need to be surmounted. There would be moments of doubts, days of uncertainty, dry spells, and even failure. But as long as we hold on to our dreams, we would achieve all we set our hearts to achieve.

haters

Haters don’t determine who we are: Ignore them

Haters are individuals who use negative words, critical comments, and behavior to bring others down by making them look or feel bad. These hurtful and negative comments can be delivered in person, online, or texts.

It doesn’t matter how you choose to live your life; whether you build a business or work a corporate job, have children or choose not to, married or not yet married, travel the world or live in a small town all your life, fat or slim, go to the gym all week or sit on the couch all day, whatever you do, someone will always be a hater. People will always find a reason to project their insecurities, fears, and negativity onto your life and you will have to deal with it.

People might tell you that your business, career, relationship, marriage will never succeed or that you will never accomplish your goals. Worrying about their opinions of you will only make you worse off. Letting others control your thoughts and actions just so they will like you is no way to live life unless you want to be a robot.

We cannot get everyone to like us. Learning to accept that not everyone is going to like you will enable you to focus your attention on working to become a better person. Don’t let haters bring you down, they have no idea of what you are capable of achieving. Ignore their words or let it fuel your motivation.

What someone says about you does not define who you are. His or her opinion of you does not determine your self-worth. You don’t have to win their approval let it go and just be the best person you can be. Haters will always be there. Anyone on the journey to success has them and must know how to remain motivated despite the discouragement and criticism of people.

What you should understand is that these people are telling you what they think about themselves not you. So if they tell you that building your dream business, career or relationship is impossible, this is what they believe for themselves not you.

They are simply projecting their own belief onto you and you have nothing to do with it. Haters don’t hate you. They hate themselves because you are a reflection of what they wish to be!!

dream

Your Dream must be well articulated

How can you achieve it if you don’t know what it is? Be very specific. If you hate your job and you want to change jobs, do some serious soul searching and figure out what your dream job would look like.

Where would you be? What would your office look like? Who would you work with? What would you do? What would you wear to work? How often would you be working? What would you eat for lunch? Be as detailed as you possibly can.

You’ll be surprised how much you’ll learn just by asking yourself these questions. Write down your answers, so you can reference them later.

Plan your dream

Every aspiration must take the form of a plan. The old saying that you “get what you plan for” is so true. Your aspiration won’t just happen. You need to sit down, regularly, and plan out your strategy for achieving the dream. Think through all of the details. Break the whole plan down into small, workable parts. Then set a time frame for accomplishing each task on your “dream plan.”

Share your dreams with others

Tell it – One reason many dreams never go anywhere is that the dreamer keeps it all to himself. It is a quiet goal that only lives inside of his mind. The one who wants to achieve their plan must tell that plan to many people.

One reason: As we continually say it, we begin to believe it more and more. If we are talking about it then it must be possible. Another reason: It holds us accountable. When we have told others, it spurs us on to do it so we don’t look foolish.
Note: Be very discrete about who you share your aspirations with. Not everyone will be happy to hear your amazing dreams. Some will want to either steal or destroy it.

Believe your dream

Yes, your ambition in life, needs to be big. It needs to be something that is seemingly beyond your capabilities. But it also must be believable. You must be able to say that if certain things take place if others help if you work hard enough, though it is a big dream, it can still be done.

Act on your dreams

All the intelligence in the world will go to waste unless you act on your dreams. Bill Gates knew how to act. He saw a gap in the market that no one else did and put his plan in motion, which made him one of the most famous entrepreneurs of the home computer revolution.

Taking action isn’t as simple as it sounds. Procrastination or fear can easily paralyze you, but it’s important to remember that nothing great ever happened on its own. Connect with the present, block out emotional resistance, and carefully time your next move. Knowing the best time to act is something most successful people have mastered. “Having a dream you don’t pursue is like buying an ice cream cone and watching it melt over your hand.” – Frank Papasso

Fighting gracefully against all odds

Fighting gracefully against all odds

One of my favorite quotes comes from an ancient philosopher. He had a clear knowledge of what it looks like going through life challenges. Hear what he had to say: “Be Kind. For everyone you meet is Fighting a Battle you know nothing about”

This amazing quote had changed my perspective about life and how I look at others going through one challenge or the other. You can never tell because of some smile through the pains. You can only see the beautiful face, but deep within is a raging battle.

For the beautiful Lilac, her battle started when she was just 34 weeks old. She had to be placed on life support after she contracted Sepsis and her organs started shutting down. It was a battle for survival, but the charming Lilac was up for the Fight.

Not long after, she was discharged from hospital and everyone thought she had won the battle, but how wrong we can be at times. It was never to be, as Lilac was diagnosed with Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy at eight months old.

It would have been too much a battle for some, but not the brave Lilac. She came out fighting courageously. Her story is an inspiration to be shared across the world. The story of courage, strength, tenacity, joy, and happiness.

She walked against all odds

The initial prognosis was that Lilac could not walk. It was a devastating blow to the parents, but one beautiful thing I have come to learn about life is the fact that when we are determined to chase after our dreams, nothing can stop us.

Lilac was fighting with all of her might to walk. Her beautiful spirit was too strong to be held back. Daily physiotherapy sessions were done, to strengthen her pretty legs. Each new day brought positive results as she learned how to walk by herself

Charming smiles always

Lilac was never weighed down by her troubles. Watching her kid brother running around and she looking helplessly without being able to join, maybe a bit tough for 3 years old. But she had a beautiful dream. A dream that kept a beautiful smile on her face.

Her desire to keep fighting until she can walk independently has always kept her going. There is presently a fundraising page at Just Giving to help her achieve her dream. Her beautiful spirit has always been kept strong by the support of family and friends.

She presently has access to a hot tub which soothes her tired legs after a long walk, but she keeps smiling always. Making use of walkers and other walking aids to build her leg stamina is currently in progress.

The future is bright

When we never stop fighting, there is always the possibility of getting to our destination in life. For the beautiful Lilac, her tremendous progress over the last couple of months has been amazing. The future is bright, as there is a huge possibility she would walk unaided very soon. She was born a warrior and warriors always fight till the very end.
